7 Days Northern Serengeti great migration
Pick up from the airport or hotel then a 1 hour drive from Arusha to Tarangire National Park. A couple of minutes in and you will most likely get the opportunity to see groups of elephants, baobab tree and more than 500 spices of birds.
We will spend an entire day exploring the park and enjoying the abundant flora and fauna that inhabits the park. After leaving the Tarangire Park, overnight in Karatu on the way to Serengeti.
After breakfast, we begin game driving throughout the beautiful plain grassland of the Serengeti national park. You will be able to see plenty of different animals in Serengeti, favorite home of wildcats such as lions, leopards, and cheetahs as well as many other animal species.
We will spend the entire day exploring the park until around sunset, when we are required to make our way to our accommodations inside the park. You will have the amazing opportunity to spend the night at the heart of the park, at central Serengeti, where you will sleep surrounded by the inhabitants of the savanna.
After breakfast, we will start game driving in Central Serengeti while at the same time we make our way to Northern Serengeti.
In Northern Serengeti we will meet the Masai Mara river, where we will have the greatest chance of spotting the biggest group of animals. We will then drive down/up the riverbank to see if we are lucky enough of witnessing a river crossing. We will spend the night in northern Serengeti.
Full day in the Masai Mara river. Patience is key in order to improve the chances of witnessing a river crossing.
We will spend the entire day in the Northern Serengeti tailing big groups of wildebeests and zebras and hope we catch them crossing the Masai Mara river. Keep a careful eye on the water and see if you can spot any crocodile awaiting its prey. We will overnight again in Northern Serengeti.
After breakfast, we will depart Northern Serengeti and make our way to the exit gate of the Serengeti Park.
After leaving the Serengeti Park, we will hit the road and head to the Ngorongoro crater rim, where we will spend the night just at the doors of the next adventure that awaits us the following morning.
Early breakfast is important because you do not want to waste precious time. We will start with an early descend into the crater from where you will be able to witness animals in the thousands roaming at the bottom of the crater. Once we make it to the bottom of the crater, congratulations you just made it to the world's largest inactive, intact, and unfilled volcanic caldera, and you will soon realize the sheer size of it.
We will start our game driving to try and witness as many as possible of the 25,000 large animals (Black Rhino, Hippo, Lions, Hyaena, Etc.) that inhabit this crater. At noon we will make it to a rest area inside the crater and eat our lunch boxes. We will then continue driving around the Ngorongoro crater spending more than 6 hours inside to see the many mini habitats inside the crater’s ecosystem.
After breakfast, we will make our way to Lake Manyara National Park.
One of the best sights at the lake are the flocks of thousands of flamingos that feed along the edge of the lake. We will spend the day game driving around the park. At the end of the day, you will be returned to the hotel or airport.
